ANDHRA STYLE MUTTON GRAVY CURRY

INGREDIENTS:

  • Cardamom : 2
  • Bay leaf : 1
  • Cinnamon : 1 inch stick
  • Cloves : 2
  • Cumin/jeera : 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric : ¼ teaspoon
  • Salt : as required
  • Red chilly powder : 2 -3 teaspoons
  • Onions : 2 medium sized
  • Tomatoes : 2 medium sized
  • Mutton : 500grams
  • Green chilly : 2
  • Ginger-garlic paste : 2 tablespoons
  • Coconut paste : ¼ cup
  • Coriander powder : 1 tablespoon
  • Coriander : small bunch
  • Curd : 2 tablespoons
  • Garam masala : 1 tablespoon

PREPARATION :

  • Clean mutton, marinate with turmeric, ginger-garlic paste, salt, red chilly powder, coriander powder, curd and set aside while till you make the rest of the preparations
  • chop onions, tomatoes, coriander and keep them aside
  • Make a paste out of fresh coconut and water or dry coconut and water

PROCEDURE :

  • Heat oil in a cooker
  • Add whole garam masala(cardamom, clove, cinnamon,bay leaf) and cumin seeds
  • Add onions and fry till golden brown
  • Now add the marinated mutton and sauté for some time till the meat changes little colour
  • Now add the tomatoes and stir a minute
  • Add coconut paste and stir
  • Add little water, mix and close the cooker lid with the whistle on
  • Cook for 6-8 whistles (mostly) at medium flame. Once done, switch off the flame. Wait for the pressure to go and remove the lid
  • Open the lid and keep the cooker on a medium flame add garam masala and leave for 5 min
  • Now add coriander and turn off the stove
  • Easy and yummy Andhra style mutton gravy curry is ready
  • Serve with any rice/rotis and even with dosa, it tastes equally good​
