PEPPER RASAM

INGREDIENTS:

  • tamarind pulp : 2 tbsp
  • turmeric : apinch
  • hing : a pinch
  • mustard seeds : 1tsp
  • cumin seeds : 1tsp
  • red chillies : 2
  • curry leaves : a sprig
  • black pepper : 2tbsp
  • rasam powder : 1tbsp(optional)
  • coriander powder : 2 tsp

PROCEDURE :

  • Heat oil in a pan
  • add mustard,cumin seeds,crushed garlic, broken red chillies,curry leaves
  • when they splutter,add turmeric,tamarind pulp and water as needed
  • now add required salt and pounded pepper,coriander powder and mix well
  • boil for 15 mins and switch off the flame
  • garnish with coriander and serve with rice and papads
